FloatPilot User Guide

Automatic Patrol Guide

This guide explains how to create, reorder, and remove patrol points on the game map, and how to let FloatPilot move through the route for the current map.

Important: Turning on “Enable Patrol” alone does not start movement. You must also enable “Enable Non-battle AI” and create an executable 00_Find nearby enemies rule in the Non-battle Settings Guide.

Quick Start

Create your first patrol route

  1. Open the map actions area in the game window.
  2. In the patrol actions panel, select “Add Patrol Point”.
  3. Click walkable locations on the map in the order you want to visit them. Each click adds that coordinate to the patrol-point list for the current map.
  4. Check “Current Map Patrol Points” to confirm the coordinates and order.
  5. Turn on “Enable Patrol” in the top toolbar.
  6. Turn on “Enable Non-battle AI” in the top toolbar.
  7. Open the Non-battle Settings Guide, create a 00_Find nearby enemies rule, and save the settings.

How patrol works

FloatPilot runs Non-battle AI while the character is not in combat or busy. When the Non-battle rule loop reaches 00_Find nearby enemies and patrol is enabled, it selects the next patrol point for the current MapId and walks there.

After reaching the end of the route, the system returns to the first point and repeats the loop. The map preview also connects the last patrol point back to the first one so you can check the closed route.

Set Up and Manage Patrol Points

Add a patrol point

  1. Select “Add Patrol Point” in “Patrol Actions”.
  2. Click a walkable location on the map.
  3. Confirm that the new coordinate appears in “Current Map Patrol Points”.

If the location is not walkable, the App will not add the point and will show a blocked-coordinate message. Click a road or another walkable tile instead.

Remove a patrol point

You can remove a patrol point for the current map in any of these ways:

  1. Click “Delete” on its row.
  2. Right-click the row and choose “Remove”.
  3. With the map patrol-point operation selected, double-click the point on the map.

The list is renumbered and the settings are saved after removal. The right-click menu also provides “Move to top” and “Move to bottom” for route ordering.

Use different routes on different maps

Patrol points are stored by MapId. After moving to another map, select “Add Patrol Point” there and create that map’s route:

  • Map A’s points are used only on Map A.
  • Map B can have a different number and order of points.
  • Returning to Map A loads the points previously saved for Map A.

Do not mix coordinates from different maps in one route; identical coordinates do not mean the same location on different maps.

Requirements to Start Patrol

Patrol movement requires all of the following:

Requirement Explanation
Enable Patrol Turn on “Enable Patrol” in the top toolbar.
Enable Non-battle AI Turn on “Enable Non-battle AI” so the Non-battle rule loop can run.
Non-battle rule Create 00_Find nearby enemies in the Non-battle Settings Guide. This action triggers patrol movement.
Points for the current map The current MapId must have at least one valid patrol point.
Character can act The character must not be in combat, dialogue, a shop window, or another busy state.

Minimal Non-battle rule

In “Character Settings → Non-battle Settings”, choose 00_Find nearby enemies as the action, use “Always” as the condition, then click “Add to Non-battle Rules” and save. This action does not need a skill or Target Profile. Keep recovery, rest, and item rules above it when those actions should take priority.

Common Problems and Troubleshooting

Patrol is enabled but the character never moves

Check these items in order:

  1. Is “Enable Non-battle AI” also enabled?
  2. Does the Non-battle rule list contain 00_Find nearby enemies, and was it saved?
  3. Does the current MapId have patrol points?
  4. Are the patrol points on walkable tiles?
  5. Is the character in combat, dialogue, a shop, or another busy state?

Patrol works only on some maps

This is normally expected: each map has its own patrol-point list. Check whether the current map has points; a route created on another map is not automatically shared by every map.

Patrol stops halfway

Check whether the next point is blocked, whether the character entered a busy state, or whether the map changed. If the character remains still for a long time, verify the point and replace it with a walkable point.

Patrol order is wrong

Patrol follows the order in “Current Map Patrol Points”. Drag the row handle or use the right-click “Move to top / Move to bottom” actions. The new order is saved immediately.

Clicking the map moves the character instead of adding a point

Select “Add Patrol Point” in the map actions area first. When “Move” is selected, clicking the map performs one manual move and does not add a patrol point.

Final Checklist

  • Each map that needs patrol has its own patrol points.
  • The patrol points are ordered as intended.
  • Every point is on a walkable location.
  • “Enable Patrol” is on.
  • “Enable Non-battle AI” is on.
  • The Non-battle rules contain 00_Find nearby enemies and have been saved.
  • The character is not in combat or busy.
