Theme and Interface Personalization
FloatPilot includes multiple visual themes, plus pointer-trail and battle-beam effects. You can change them from the App title bar. The selection applies immediately and is stored in configs\common.ini.
Terms used in this guide
| Term | Plain-language meaning |
|---|---|
| Theme | The App's overall color and appearance combination. |
| Pointer effect | An appearance effect shown when the mouse moves. |
| Battle-beam effect | An attack or hit effect shown during battle. |
common.ini |
The file where the App stores shared appearance settings. |
Note: Themes and effects change appearance only. They do not change battle rules, login data, or the game's own data. If the configuration file is corrupted, see the Missing Configuration Files guide.
Quick start
Change the theme
- Open the FloatPilot App.
- Find the current theme name or theme button in the title bar.
- Open the theme menu.
- Select the theme you want.
- The theme applies to the whole App immediately.
There is no separate save button. After you select a theme, the App writes the theme name to configs\common.ini and loads it automatically the next time it starts.
Change pointer and battle-beam effects
The two effect buttons in the title bar have different purposes:
| Feature | Where it appears | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pointer effect | The trail behind the mouse pointer | Adding a more technical feel while operating the App. |
| Battle-beam effect | Hit and attack feedback in battle | Making battle events easier to notice or changing the battle mood. |
To change either effect:
- Click the pointer-effect or battle-beam icon in the title bar.
- Select an effect from the menu.
- Move the pointer or perform a battle action to preview it.
The two effects can be selected independently. For example, the pointer can use Cyan Pulse while battle hits use Amber Burst. Changes are stored automatically and do not require an App restart for preview.
Theme color overview
The bright center of each swatch is the theme accent color. The outer frame represents the theme background. This is a quick preview; the full theme also includes coordinated text, panels, buttons, and status colors.
| Theme | Color preview | Style and use |
|---|---|---|
| Cyber Neon Dark | Default technical dark theme for long sessions. | |
| Cyberpunk | Strong neon contrast and the boldest style. | |
| Aurora Light | Clean light theme with a cool technical tone. | |
| Arcane Violet | Violet-black atmosphere for dark-theme fans. | |
| Tactical Amber | Tactical terminal style with a restrained look. | |
| Midnight Ocean | Deep ocean blue, especially comfortable at night. | |
| Crimson Noir | Dark red and black with a warning atmosphere. | |
| Solar Porcelain | Warm porcelain light theme without harsh contrast. | |
| Sakura Mist | Soft misty pink with a distinctive identity. | |
| Classic Win11 Light | Familiar Windows light interface. | |
| Classic Win11 Dark | Familiar Windows dark interface. | |
| Paper Ink Light | Warm paper-and-ink style for light-theme users. | |
| Matrix Terminal Dark | Green terminal style with strong recognition. | |
| Toybox Pop Light | Bright and playful with pink and blue contrast. | |
| Mono High Contrast Dark | Black-and-yellow high contrast for clear recognition. |
Pointer effects
The pointer effect leaves a short-lived trail while the mouse moves. It changes only the pointer visuals inside the App; it does not change pointer speed or click behavior.
| Effect | Color impression | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Arrow | Clear and restrained, with low visual distraction. | |
| Purple Lightning | The default technical style. | |
| Cyan Pulse | A softer wave-like beam. | |
| Magenta Slash | Strong motion and high visual energy. | |
| Emerald Comet | A bright comet-like trail. | |
| Amber Burst | Warm burst effect that pairs well with tactical themes. |
Battle-beam effects
The battle-beam effect provides visual feedback in battle. It uses the same effect choices as the pointer menu, but appears in battle rather than behind the mouse pointer.
- Choose Classic Arrow or Cyan Pulse for easy-to-read hit feedback.
- Choose Magenta Slash or Amber Burst for stronger attack energy.
- Choose Emerald Comet to match green health or success states.
- Use Purple Lightning to keep the default FloatPilot style.
Storing and restoring
Automatic storing
When you change the theme, pointer effect, or battle-beam effect, the App writes the selection directly to configs\common.ini. There is no separate appearance-save button.
Does the selection survive a restart?
Yes. If common.ini can be read, the App loads the previous choices on startup. If a value is unknown or invalid, the App returns to Cyber Neon Dark or Purple Lightning.
Back up appearance settings
- Close FloatPilot completely.
- Back up
configs\common.ini. - To restore it, put the backup file back in the same
configsfolder. - Restart the App.
Do not overwrite common.ini while the App is running, because a later save may replace your manual changes.
Common questions and checks
The theme resets after a restart
Confirm that the App can store files in the configs folder and that common.ini is not being used by antivirus or synchronization software. If the file is corrupted, close the App, move common.ini aside, and restart so the App can create a new configuration file.
The pointer trail is too noticeable
Try Classic Arrow or Cyan Pulse. These two effects are visually simpler and are better when you want less distraction.
The battle beam does not appear
Confirm that you are in a battle view, then confirm that battle-beam visuals have not been disabled in the interface settings. Switch to another effect and perform another battle action to verify that the setting was applied.
Final checklist
- A preferred theme was selected from the title bar.
- Pointer and battle-beam effects were configured separately.
- The App was restarted to confirm that the selections persist.
-
configs\common.iniis in the correct App directory. - The file was not overwritten while the App was running.
